The dynamic trio of Ryan Dufault, Andrew Morgan and Kyreese Willingham combined for 58 points as No. 1-ranked Waseca (22-1) cruised past Fergus Falls 72-58 in a Class 2A semifinal Wednesday at Target Center.

Waseca will face Caledonia (23-1) for the Class 2A title at 3 p.m. Saturday.

The seniors combined for all but three of the Bluejays’ 44 first-half points.

“When you have a lot of seniors who have been playing together for three years you don’t need as much time to figure things out,” Waseca coach Seth Anderson said. “They know what we are trying to do offensively and defensively.”

• Dufault was either getting out ahead of the field in transition, driving to the basket or stepping out and hitting three-pointers. He finished with 13 points and seven assists.

• The 6-9 Morgan was either quickly getting up and down the court to convert alley-oop passes or taking advantage of mismatches in the lane when Fergus Falls 7-0 center Chance Fazio was providing help defense on one of his teammates. The North Dakota State recruit wound up with 24 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots.

• Willingham slashed to the hoop or hit lefthanded shots from beyond the arc. He had 21 points — including four three-pointers —  five assists, four rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.

“All three were fantastic,” Anderson said. “They have been so consistent the last three years.”

Fazio led three Fergus Falls (16-8) players in double figures with 20 points. He also grabbed 15 rebounds, blocked four shots and handed out four assists.
