Top games: 'Humbled' Lakeville South looks to get back on track in tilt at Eastview

Feb. 5: The Cougars are adjusting to life without their former anchor in the middle, and keeping up with a tough South Suburban Conference lineup.

We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.




Other games to keep an eye on

Blake vs. St. Croix Prep, Tuesday, Feb. 2, 7:30 p.m. No. 6-2A Blake (5-0), which has won three consecutive games by 33 or more points, meets unbeaten No. 8-2A St. Croix Prep (6-0) and high-scoring Addison Metcalf (25.8 ppg).

Austin vs. Mankato East, Friday, Feb. 5, 7:30 p.m. Perennial Big 9 Conference powers will battle it out, as No. 9-3A Austin (4-1) travels to No. 8-3A Mankato East (5-0) for the first of two regular-season matchups between the Packers and Cougars.
