And the winner is...MN Basketball Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer winner

Carter Owens, St. Paul Highland Park. The junior guard makes his 2019-20 debut on this list after a 41-point performance this past week. It came as he led the Scots to an 86-75 win over St. Paul Washington on Feb. 4. He finished the week off with 22 points as St. Paul Highland Park bested St. Paul Como Park 78-56 on Feb. 7.

Top performer candidates

Kooper Vaughn, St. Charles. Vaughn notched not one, but two 40-point performances for St. Charles. The first came on Feb. 6 as the junior poured in 42 points in the Fighting Saints' 101-89 win over Southland. Then, Vaughn poured in 40 points, including eight three-pointers, on Feb. 8 as St. Charles pulled out an 86-79 win over Minneapolis Patrick Henry/FAIR.

Tate Laabs, Princeton. The senior guard showed his ability to not only score but help out his teammates on the offensive end on Feb. 3. Laabs tallied a team-best 28 points in a 101-70 win over Chisago Lakes. He also dished out 10 assists to complete a double-double performance.

John Henry, Eden Prairie. Henry is one of four Eagles with 1,000 career points. He continued to add to that number during games on Feb. 7 and 8. In the first game, Henry tallied 28 points as Eden Prairie stayed unbeaten with an 81-57 win over Lake Conference foe Edina. A day later, Henry improved on the first performance by dropping in 32 points to help the Eagles to a 79-61 win over Cambridge-Isanti.

Matt Banovetz, Holy Angels. The senior is back in the race for top performer this week as he continues to show his ability to score and secure rebounds for the Stars. Banovetz scored 24 points while also grabbing 13 rebounds as Holy Angels topped Brooklyn Center 79-64 on Feb. 3.
