Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.

Top performer winner

Jessye Lewis, Jr., Hiawatha Collegiate. Only a freshman, Lewis' offensive game looks more like one of an experienced veteran. On Jan. 9, Lewis added 38 points,  but also stepped up defensively as he picked up 9 steals in a 78-41 win over Groves Academy.

Top performer candidates

Tait Nelson, St. Anthony. The senior guard returns to this list after another eye-popping performance. Nelson poured in 44 points in an 88-75 win over St. Thomas Academy this past Staruday.

Will Teschetter, Stewartville. Similarly to other players on this list, Tschetter is back because of his high-scoring ability. Tschetter averaged 37 points this past week. It started with 34 points in a 65-56 win over Rochester Lourdes on Jan. 7. Three days later, Tschetter upped the ante as he scored 40 points in a 77-67 victory against Cannon Falls.

Zach Longueville, St. Croix Lutheran. On Jan. 7, Longueville showed how he can do it all for the Crusaders. The junior guard scored 27 points and collected 10 rebounds in a 59-55 road win against St. Peter.

Nathan Heise, Lake City. Like Tschetter, Heise is a high-scorer from the Hiawatha Valley Gold Conference. The Northern Iowa commit started last week with 36 points in a 79-54 win against Dover-Eyota. Then, Heise followed that up with 25 points as the Tigers defeated Zumbrota-Mazeppa 66-36 on Jan. 10.
