Top games: Wisconsin-bound big men at center of clash between Lakeville South and Eastview

We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.






Other games to keep an eye on

Park Center vs. Eden Prairie, 4:15 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18. No. 2-4A Park Center (7-3, 2-1) is coming off a 76-73 loss to Robbinsdale Armstrong on Jan. 9 while No. 1-4A Eden Prairie (12-0, 2-0) looks to hold off a top contender.

Austin vs. Mankato East, 7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17. No. 6-3A Austin (11-1, 8-1) is shaping up to be the toughest Big 9 Conference challenger to No. 2-3A Mankato East (10-1, 8-0), and they meet for the first of two regular-season meetings on Friday.

Delano vs. Waconia, 7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 17. Two of the top scorers and top teams in the Wright County Conference East Division prepare to clash, as PJ Hayes (24.7 ppg) leads No. 7-3A Waconia (9-3, 1-0) against Terron O'Neill (21.6 ppg) and No. 8-3A Delano (10-2, 1-0).

North Woods vs. Cass Lake-Bena, 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16. Cass Lake-Bena (8-3, 4-1) is on a four-game winning streak after a 4-3 start and should give North Woods (9-3, 2-0) a good test.
