We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.
Minnehaha Academy vs. North St. Paul, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11. Minnehaha Academy star Jalen Suggs missed the No. 1-3A Redhawks' season opener with a bone bruise and fracture in his ankle, and has yet to be at 100%. It seems the Redhawks (2-1, 0-0), who lost 75-66 to No. 3-4A Cretin-Derham Hall at the Breakdown Tip Off Classic last weekend, will have to rely on the rest of their stellar lineup for a few games, including against North St. Paul (0-3, 0-0).
Zimmerman vs. Princeton, 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10. Princeton (0-2, 0-0) placed third at the Class 3A state tournament last season while Zimmerman (1-1, 0-0) won fewer than 10 games. But the Tigers return without their top five scorers and Zimmerman has Carter Mceachern, who averaged 23 points as a junior.
