Top seed DeLaSalle ran away from Bemidji in a 76-45 rout in the first Class 3A quarterfinal Wednesday at Williams Arena.
The Islanders (25-5) led 40-19 at halftime thanks to stifling defense, their trademark, and strong three-point shooting. They made 8-of-12 three-pointers in the first half.
Bemidji (23-4), playing in its first state tournament since 1985, fared no better in the second half.
DeLaSalle, a private school located in Minneapolis, won six consecutive 3A titles from 2012-17.
