No. 3 Champlin Park at No. 4 Osseo
7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 30

Champlin Park has raced out a perfect 12-0 record in the Northwest Suburban Conference, but Osseo is right on its heels entering late January. The Rebels are one of the state’s most explosive teams, averaging 85.1 points per game and ripping off 16 straight victories since losing to Hopkins in a 106-103 shootout on Nov. 30. Brennan Witt (17.1 ppg) leads five players in double-figure scoring for Champlin Park, along with Jeremy Johnson (13.5 ppg), Ian Smith (12.5 ppg), JT Gibson (11.9 ppg) and Marty Hill (10.1 ppg). Osseo is also on a roll, winning nine consecutive games. The Orioles have lost just three games, but one is to Champlin Park, a 68-65 defeat on Dec. 13. Ian Theisen (16.2 ppg) poured in 30 points in the losing effort. The big center is a handful in the paint, while Wheeler Baker (24.7 ppg) added 17 points in that game and is a potent scorer from the perimeter.
