Hopkins vs.

Minneapolis North

7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24

David is still looking for a way to take down Goliath, but the meeting between Class 4A power Hopkins and Class 2A power Minneapolis North has become an annual celebration of basketball.

And this season, the Twin Cities is treated to a double dose of that unique rivalry as No. 5-4A Hopkins travels to No. 5-2A Minneapolis North on Feb. 24 for a second meeting of these teams this season. Hopkins (17-5, 7-2) won 70-62 on its home floor on Dec. 30.

Kerwin Walton, Hopkins' leading scorer this season at 26.6 points per game, has now played in three games against North, averaging 17 points. He scored a game-high 22 points in this season's first matchup.

North (17-5, 11-0) has won 10 consecutive games, including a 74-65 decision last Saturday at No. 8-2A East Grand Forks. The Polars are led by junior Davon Townley (18.4 ppg) and sophomore Willie Wilson (16.1 ppg).
