Madson, who has been getting some attention from Division III schools in the MIAC and WIAC, likely will become Cougars’ career scoring leader this season. He passed the 1,000-career points milestone in the Class 3A, Section 2 semifinals last March and is closing in on former teammate Damani Hayes’ career mark of 1,464 points. Madson scored 593 points last year, but his coach and father, Joe Madson, said a strong supporting cast this season that includes Joich Gong (14.8 ppg last season), Jordan Merseth (11.9 ppg) and a few young sharpshooters could mean the Cougars won’t need Jax to score as much as he did last season.
