Cambridge-Isanti

vs. Princeton

7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15

On Tuesday, the teams begin a new season series, and Cambridge-Isanti, which holds a 9-5 series lead since the 2010-11 season, has won seven of eight games since an 0-2 start this season.

The Bluejackets (8-3, 2-0) have the firepower to keep up with a Princeton team that can put up points. Henry Abraham leads a group of five players averaging 10 points or more at 25 ppg. Luke Malamisuro (16.5 ppg), London Williams (12.3 ppg), Austin Chromy (10.5 ppg) and Micah Ladd (10.2 ppg) round out the Bluejackets’ attack.

But on paper it appears the No. 2-3A Tigers have the upper hand and a good chance to end that back-and-forth series sweeping. Princeton (11-0, 2-0) is undefeated entering the week and winning games by an average margin of 27 points.

The Tigers' senior-dominated lineup seeks its first state tournament appearance since 1932 and only its third in school history. Jon Stimmler, a 6-7 senior, averages 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Princeton. Other scoring leaders include seniors James Flicek (16.1 ppg), Adam Williams (14.9 ppg), Calvin Peterson (10.6 ppg) and Reilly O'Neil (9.4 ppg).
