Hinckley-Finlayson

vs. Pine City

5:45 p.m., Friday, March 2

The fate of the Great River Conference title has come down to the end of the regular season.

Hinckley-Finlayson is the defending conference champion and has been sprinting away from most league opponents all season. One foe the No. 7-1A Jaguars could not out run is Pine City, as they scraped by with a 68-66 win on Jan. 25.

Travis Visser (24 ppg), Anders Prater (11.2 ppg) and Chayne Dunkley (10.3 ppg) lead the Hinckley-Finlayson offense. The Jaguars (22-3, 13-0) will likely need strong games from all three if they are going to fend off the Dragons for a second time this season and retain sole possession of the conference title.

Pine City is the closest its been to owning a piece of the league title since a second-place finish in standings in the 2014-15 season. The Dragons (20-5, 12-1) will be eager to end the regular season with a win and secure a share of conference glory, especially with a tough Class 2A, Section 6 tournament right around the corner.

Nick Hansmann (15.5 ppg) is the tip of Pine City's offensive spear, and the junior is supplemented by Clay Logan (13.8 ppg).
