St. Charles vs.

Wabasha-Kellogg

7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 26

St. Charles and Wabasha-Kellogg are locked atop the standings in the newly created Three Rivers Conference West Division. The 13-team league added divisions this season, and a win in this game will give the victor pole position for the inaugural conference title.

The No. 3-2A Saints have been excellent this season, not losing a game until a 81-57 defeat to Lake City on Jan. 20. St. Charles (14-1, 4-0) is led in scoring by Kaden Vaughn (17.2 ppg), while Drew Leistikow contributes 15.4 ppg while also pulling down 8.6 rpg.

The Falcons (8-6, 4-0) have had a bumpy season thus far when compared to St. Charles, but they also boast the talent to take down one of the premier teams in Class 2A. Zach Kjeseth leads the team in points, rebounds and assists with 21.1, 11.5 and 9.5, respectively.

Despite Kjeseth's high production, Wabasha-Kellogg has struggled for offense in some games. The Falcons have failed to score more than 57 points in six games, while the Saints have finished with more than 57 points in all but one contest. If the Falcons want to take command of the league race, the offense will have to avoid having one of its down nights and force St. Charles to keep up.
