Bloomington Jefferson at Bloomington Kennedy
7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 7

Despite these teams being at opposite ends of the Metro West standings, Tuesday’s crosstown matchup is sure to be an energized bout.

Bloomington Jefferson has climbed to No. 14 in Class 4A after two upsets over No. 18-4A Chaska (60-57) and No. 16-4A Edina (66-63) in the midst of a seven-game winning streak.

Tyler Riemersma (18.5 ppg) is the leading scorer for the Jaguars (14-3, 6-0) and a force on the boards. The 6-foot-8 senior forward posted a 27-point, 32-rebound stat line in a 56-47 win over Robbinsdale Cooper on Jan. 17, which kindled the run his team has been on since.

Bloomington Kennedy has been on four-game skid through league play and will be looking to rebound in front of a home crowd on Tuesday.

Point guard Markel Aune has averaged 19.7 points and 6.8 assists per game while Krystian Toliver has averaged a double-double this season (12.9 ppg, 10.8 rpg).
