St. Paul Johnson at St. Paul Central

The St. Paul City Conference crown was shared by Central and Johnson last year, and the Governors would like to continue their 13-year run as league champions by dealing the Minutemen their first conference loss of the season.

That’ll prove to be a difficult task as Central (10-9, 6-0) has won seven straight after a difficult non-league schedule in the first half of the season. Daveonte Davis (15.1 ppg) and Re'Twan Balenger (13.1 ppg) have been the Minutemen’s primary scorers.

Johnson has been streaky this season, but the Governors (7-9, 4-2) are currently riding a three-game winning streak after two overtime wins against St. Paul Washington (87-85), Harding (60-58) and Highland Park (74-70).

Kyle Lee (13.1 ppg) and Justin Yang (12.8 ppg) have led the offense during the latest run of wins.
