Edina at Hopkins
7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10

Hopkins dropped its first two Lake Conference games this season and can avenge the Dec. 16 loss to Edina on Friday.

The Royals, ranked sixth in Class 4A, picked up wins over No. 7-4A Eden Prairie (84-77) on Jan. 20 and Minnetonka (71-65) on Jan. 31 to bring themselves within a game of league leader, No. 4-4A Wayzata. Ball State signee Ishmael El-Amin (21.4 ppg) and Elon commit Simon Wright (15.1 ppg) have led the charge for Hopkins (14-5, 2-2).

After a four-game skid, Edina (11-6, 2-3) bounced back by stinging two of Class 4A’s top teams last week -- Wayzata (56-54) and No. 9-4A Tartan (71-69).

Division I prospect Walt McGrory (25.2 ppg) knocked down six triples en route to a game-high 31 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Hornets' upset of Hopkins. McGrory is the program’s all-time leading scorer and has been helped on the offensive end by Anders Nelson (15.5 ppg).
