Virginia at North Woods
7:15 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19

These two undefeated northern powers are bound for a battle of unbeatens on Friday if they continue to play with the same success they’ve had all winter.

North Woods hasn’t scored less than 73 points in a contest this season as the No. 15-1A Grizzlies (7-0, 1-0) have averaged 81 points per game. Six-foot-4 George Bibeau is the team’s lone senior and center of an otherwise undersized lineup that’s made its living off the press defense.

Bibeau should match up with 6-foot-7 Ethan Youso, an inside-out forward who will likely want to push the ball into the lane and physically assert himself. The junior has averaged a double-double this season for No. 18-2A Virginia (11-0, 5-0).

He posted 27 points in a 75-71 victory over North Woods a year ago -- the Grizzlies only regular-season loss -- but defense may be a bigger factor this go-round. The Blue Devils have been stout on defense, allowing just 42 points per game.
