Cass Lake-Bena at Red Lake
7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6

Cass Lake-Bena’s only losses this season are to Red Lake and the Panthers are eager to buck the trend on Friday.

After upsetting then-No. 7-1A Nevis 73-70 on Dec. 27, previously unranked Cass Lake-Bena jumped to No. 5 in the Class 1A rankings. The move may have added the juice the Panthers need to give the No. 2-1A Warriors a challenge and avoid a third loss this season and sixth straight in the series.

Cass Lake-Bena (8-2, 3-2) will look to the experience of returners Noah DeLapazArnold KingbirdTerick Frazer and Jared Brown, who were four of the team's top five scorers a year ago.

Red Lake (9-1, 5-0) is led by Rob McClain Jr., a senior guard who posted two double-doubles (23 points and 17 rebounds; 17 points and 14 rebounds) against the Panthers already this season.
