Rosemount at Lakeville North
7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 6

Rosemount clawed its way to the No. 10 spot in Minnesota Basketball News's Class 4A rankings on the strength of a 6-0 start, and the Irish (6-2, 1-0) get an opportunity to climb higher with a road game at No. 3-4A Lakeville North (6-1, 0-1) on Friday.

Rosemount’s senior group took its bumps and bruises last season, but are off to the program’s best start in over a decade. The Irish (6-2, 1-0) can match their total number of wins from last season by upending the Panthers in this important South Suburban Conference clash.

Bolstering a defense-first mentality and balanced scoring has been vital to Rosemount’s success. Navy commits Alec Loehr (19 points per game) and Luke Loehr (17 ppg) are holding down the paint while guards Myka Edmond (10 ppg) and Luke Siwek (11 ppg) keep opposing shooters at bay.

Luke Loehr may be tasked with guarding Nathan Reuvers, who averaged 29 ppg in Lakeville North's past three wins.
