St. Charles mounted an eight-point comeback in the final minute of last year's Class 1A, Section 1 semifinal to defeat Lake City and avenge a 76-75 in overtime loss in the regular season. 

Saturday’s meeting in the Three Rivers Conference/Hiawatha Valley League Showdown at the Rochester Mayo Civic Center will be the rubber match for these programs.

The Saints dropped their first game of the season on Saturday, falling to Watertown-Mayer 70-59. St. Charles (2-1) has relied on returners Keagan Maloney (19.5 ppg) and Kaden Vaughn (17 ppg) for offense this season. 

Lake City’s Marc Kjos (11.7 ppg) and Mitch Marien (5.9 ppg) have taken on the offensive duties for the Tigers (3-0).

Kjos finished with a team-high 16 points and Marien had 15 in a 71-53 win over Chatfield last Friday.
