True Thompson scored 20 for Armstrong, which entered the game ranked No. 9 in 4A.. The Orioles improved to 11-0 on the season and kept pace with Maple Grove atop the Northwest Suburban’s West Division. Both teams are 6-0 in conference play. Osseo’s rugged week continues Thursday when it plays No. 5, 4A Champlin Park, which leads the North Division with a perfect 6-0 conference record.

HOPKINS 111, WACONIA 86: The No. 1, 4 Royals and the Wildcats combined to make 25 three-pointers. Senior Amir Coffey scored 30 points to lead all scorers and pulled down 13 rebounds. Earlier in the day, he was invited to the McDonalds All-American Game, which made him the only boys basketball player from the state to receive an invitation. Joey Kortuem finished with 20 points for Waconia. Hopkins plays Edina in a Lake Conference matchup on Friday.

LAKEVILLE SOUTH 73, SHAKOPEE 55: Jack Sorenson’s 18 points led the Cougars to the upset over the No. 4, 4A Sabres, which lost for the second time in its last three games after starting the season 9-0. Blake Wacholz added 15 for South. Shakopee’s Booker Coplin had 26 in the losing effort.

BENILDE-ST. MARGARET’S 54, CHASKA 51: The Knights trailed by 17 points before rallying to the No. 10, 4A Hawks. Matt Lilienthal and Sam Baker led the Knights with 19 and 14 points. Myles Hanson scored 28 for Chaska.

CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 66, MOUNDS VIEW 60: Sophomore Daniel Oturu’s double-double led Cretin-Derham Hall to victory. He finished with 19 points, 21 rebounds, and 7 blocks. Deland Phillips recorded 16 points for the Raiders. Nate Albers had 26 points for the Mustangs.

ST. PAUL WASHINGTON 71, ST. PAUL HUMBOLDT 65: Junior Curtis Bell led the Eagles to victory with a triple-double. He scored 17 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and passed for 12 assists. Maurice Carter chipped in with 16 points for Washington. Jacob Andrew had 15 points in the losing effort.

ORONO 70, ROCORI 55: Orono, No. 4 in Class 3A, won for the ninth time behind senior forward Sam Sustacek’s with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Alexander Kill also had 16 points for Orono. Jon Olson scored 26 points for Rocori.
