DeLaSalle at St. Anthony
7 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 2

DeLaSalle didn't become the four-time defending Class 3A state champion by playing a weak schedule. So there's no reason for the Islanders to push the panic button after two early season losses.

DeLaSalle, however, will look to avoid a third against a surging St. Anthony team in this Tri-Metro Conference cross-divisional matchup.

The Huskies (8-1) may have surprised some people this season, winning nine games before the new year after totaling just six last season. They have four players averaging more than 11.0 ppg, with senior center Nick Peterson (14.9 ppg) and junior guard Rhys Langums (13.6 ppg) leading the way.

St. Anthony just dropped its first game of the season, falling 49-43 loss to Columbia Heights on Dec. 18.

The No. 1-3A Islanders (2-2) are led by sophomore guard Gabe Kalscheur (26.0 ppg) while junior center Goanar Mar (17.5 ppg) aids the attack.
