Champlin Park vs. Minneapolis North
Granite City Classic in St. Cloud
3:45 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30

Not many Class 1A teams can compete with the state's best largest class programs, but Minneapolis North has been the exception the past few seasons.

The No. 1-1A Polars (8-1) get to test their mettle against another top-tier Class 4A program when they take on No. 4-ranked Champlin Park (6-0) at the Granite City Classic in St. Cloud.

Part of North's success can be attributed to team chemistry. The Polars have five players averaging more than 13.0 ppg this season, led by Odell Wilson IV (16.1 ppg) and Patrick Dembley (14.4 ppg). Wilson has especially come on strong as of late, putting up 57 points in the last two games.

The Rebels have reloaded after losing in the Class 4A state title game last March and recorded notable wins over Robbinsdale Armstrong (61-59) and No. 1-3A DeLaSalle (75-68) this season.

Juniors McKinley Wright IV (18.3 ppg) and Theo John (17.2 ppg) are pacing Champlin Park this season.
