West Central Area at Long Prairie-Grey Eagle
6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 19

West Central Area and Long Prairie-Grey Eagle have led the Prairie Conference for much of the season, and their meeting in the regular-season finale could determine which team takes home the league title.

West Central Area enters the week with a one-game lead on Long Prairie-Grey Eagle in league play. If the Knights defeat Swanville and the Thunder win at Upsala on Feb. 17, then West Central Area will play for the title outright, while Long Prairie-Grey Eagle can earn a share of the championship with a win.

When these teams met on Jan. 15, the Thunder relied on their defense to record a lopsided victory (55-33) in Barrett. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle limited West Central Area center and two-time all-conference selection Jay Zimmerman to just 10 points and held Hunter Pfingsten without a bucket.

Zimmerman, who recently scored his 1,000th career point, finished with 21 points and Pfingsten chipped in 13 in a 57-35 victory over Royalton on Feb. 13.

Seniors Derek Eberle (15.7 ppg), Tommy Geisenhof (14.2 ppg) and Trevor Bergmann (9.5 ppg) lead the Thunder in scoring.
