Champlin Park at Blaine
7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20

Champlin Park's pursuit of perfection could come down to the regular-season finale at Blaine on Feb. 20.

Only a loss to Elk River on Feb. 17 would keep Champlin Park from a shot at an undefeated record in the showdown against Northwest Suburban Conference North Division matchup with the Bengals.

Confidence, or overconfidence, could be the only thing to stop the No. 1-4A Rebels from wrapping up the year at 26-0 overall and 12-0 in league play.

Champlin Park routed both Elk River (88-32 on Dec. 19) and (Blaine 98-27) on Jan. 6.

Senior guards J.T. Gibson (19.6 ppg), Marty Hill (16.5 ppg) and Jeremy Johnson (14.2 ppg), along with sophomore guard McKinley Wright (14.1 ppg) lead a high-scoring Rebels team averaging 87.4 ppg.

Blaine (11-13, 6-4) counters with junior center Ben Scherer (13.9 ppg) and junior forward Zachary Baker (8.4 ppg).
