Edina at Hopkins
7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13

Hopkins has been nothing short of dominant during its current 14-game winning streak. The Royals' closest games were eight-point victories over No. 6-4A Cretin-Derham Hall and No. 5-4A Eden Prairie.

The run has also helped No. 4-4A Hopkins (17-4, 5-0) maintain control of the Lake Conference, but the battle isn't over as the Royals' next game is against Edina.

Hopkins defeated the Hornets 85-76 on Jan. 9 as three Royals finished with 20 or more points. Senior guard John Warren had 24 points, while junior guard Xavier Johnson added 21 and junior guard Vinnie Shahid scored 20.

Sophomore guard Walt McGrory had 24 points and junior guard Will Moreton finished with 18 points to lead Edina.

The Hornets (16-6, 1-5) are in last place in the league but would likely revel in adding a victory over a conference rival to its resume. Edina already has impressive wins over Minnetonka (81-80) on Jan. 30 and No. 10-4A Shakopee (87-75) on Dec. 13.

Hopkins needs victories over Edina and Minnetonka to clinch at least a share of the league title, while the Royals will win the league championship outright with a win in the season finale with Eden Prairie.
