Bloomington Jefferson at Chanhassen
7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10

The Metro West Conference title race tightened up after Chanhassen upset Chaska 67-65 on Feb. 7 and handed the Hawks their first league loss.

The Storm (12-10, 8-2) and Bloomington Jefferson (14-5, 8-2) enter the week tied for second in the standing and are just one game behind Chaska.

Chanhassen and Bloomington Jefferson meet Tuesday, and the winner may have the inside track to chase down the Hawks for a share of the conference crown if Chaska slips in one of its four remaining games.

This contest figures to be a contrast in styles as the Storm is the league's second-highest scoring team at 70.8 ppg, and the Jaguars surrender a conference-best 52.9 ppg.

Defense won out in the last meeting as Bloomington Jefferson held Chanhassen to a season-low point total in a 60-49 victory on Jan. 13.

The Jaguars had an answer for nearly every Storm player in that game, except for Chanhassen leading scorer Joey Witthus, as the senior forward scored a game-high 21 points. Senior guard Ben Khwice had 13 points in the loss.

Sophomore forward Tom Gathje finished with 20 points and sophomore guard Joe Hird had 12 points for Bloomington Jefferson.

The Storm enter the game on a six-game winning streak, while the Jaguars are 8-2 in their last 10 games.
