Eden Prairie at Wayzata
7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13

The race for the Lake Conference title is down to two teams.

Eden Prairie (20-2, 4-1) trails league leader Hopkins (17-4, 5-0) by one game in the standings, and the No. 5-4A Eagles must win their final two games - including at Wayzata on Feb. 13 - to keep pace with the No. 4-4A Royals.

Eden Prairie, however, may find winning at Wayzata (16-6, 2-4) a tough task. The Eagles beat the Trojans 74-65 on Jan. 9, and Eden Prairie's two losses both came on the road (66-55 at DeLaSalle and 75-67 at Hopkins).

Blake Cashman gave Eden Prairie a boost in the victory over Wayzata, as the senior guard scored a season-high 24 points, well above his 10.2 points-per-game average.

The Eagles needed a big game from Cashman because the Trojans limited senior guard Grantham Gillard, Eden Prairie's leading scorer at 19 ppg, to just 16 points. Senior center Josh Lansana chipped in 14 points.

Junior guard Johnny Beeninga, who leads Wayzata in scoring at 17 ppg, finished with 22 points in the loss, while the Trojans' second and third scoring options, junior guard Jack Sowada (14.4 ppg) and junior forward Austin Slater (11.6 ppg), scored just 11 total points.
