Lakeview Christian Academy at Floodwood
7:15 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5

Two teams with powerful offenses collide as the state's leading scorer Bjorn Broman and Lakeview Christian Academy travel to Floodwood on Feb. 5.

This matchup features the two of the top teams in Class 1A, Section 7 and is likely to be a high scoring affair.

No. 10-1A Floodwood (17-2) averages 71.7 points per game but struggled to reach the mark in its last three games, when the Polar Bears went 1-2 including a 61-52 loss to Esko on Jan. 30.

Lakeview Christian Academy (12-6) experienced an offensive slump in an 84-67 loss at Legacy Christian on Jan. 19. The Lions, who average 85.4 ppg, were not down for long, as they rebounded to win four in a row and scored 90 or more points in victories over Duluth Marshall on Jan. 27 and at Bayfield on Jan. 31.

While offense fuels both teams, defense may be the key to victory, especially for Floodwood as it tries to slow Broman. The 6-foot senior, who has committed to play Division I basketball at Winthrop next season, enters the game averaging 47.6 points per game, by far the highest in the state.

Broman is an efficient scorer, shooting 52.2 percent from the field and 45 percent from behind the 3-point line. He also averages more than 11 free-throw attempts per game.
