Chanhassen at Chaska
3 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7

Chanhassen travels to Chaska for Metro West Conference clash, but there's more at stake in this game than positioning in the league standings. The winner gets local bragging rights in the rivalry between these neighboring communities.

Both teams are on a midseason roll. Chaska (15-5, 8-0) won eight of its last nine games, losing only to Eden Prairie 66-65 on Jan. 24. Chanhassen (10-10, 6-2) climbed to .500 thanks to a four-game winning streak that included a 64-63 victory at Bloomington Kennedy on Jan. 30.

The Hawks defeated the Storm 71-54 on Jan. 9 despite 25 points from Chanhassen senior captain Joey Witthus. Keeping Witthus (21.6 ppg), the Storm's leading scorer, in check must be a priority for Chaska.

Chad Mapes (11.7 ppg) gives Chanhassen a second scoring option.

Senior guard Jacob Hansen finished with 19 points, while senior guard Colby Murphy had 16 and sophomore guard Myles Hanson added 14 points for the Hawks in the win. Jacob (16.5 ppg) and Myles (16.3 ppg) are Chaska's top scorers.
