Mankato West at Red Wing
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3

Red Wing's return to the Big 9 Conference has been a boon for the Wingers, who are in position to win the league title thanks to a six-game winning streak.

The run has No. 3-3A Red Wing (17-3, 14-2) sitting atop the conference standings with a one-game lead on Rochester John Marshall, but the Wingers are still in danger of being caught be the league's other red-hot team, Mankato West, and make this matchup a must-win for both.

The Scarlets (14-5, 12-4) are one and a half games behind in the standings but have hit their stride during the heart of the season, winning five in a row and 10 of their last 11 games.

To close the gap in the standings, Mankato West must neutralize Red Wing's two-pronged offensive attack, something the Scarlets failed to do in a 66-49 loss to the Wingers on Dec 12. Junior guard Travis Toivonen scored a season-high 27 points and senior forward Ty Buck added 24 points in the win.

Junior Jake Dale finished with 20 points and sophomore guard Jake Makela had 11 for Mankato West in a losing effort.
