New Prague's 4-5 record may cause some teams to look past the Trojans, but that would be a mistake. 

New Prague has been competitive in games against some of the state's top teams. The Trojans lost to No. 9-4A Shakopee 69-66 and fell to No. 4-3A Red Wing 66-62. For those interested in the math, that's two defeats by a combined seven points.

No. 10-3A Simley is coming off two tough losses - 64-57 to Tartan on Dec. 16 and 68-60 to Hastings on Dec. 19 - that dropped the Spartans to 5-3.

The Spartans lean on brothers Jack and Sam Stensgard, who average 16.3 and 16.1 points per game, respectively.
