Perham at Battle Lake
7:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 19

It looks to be a classic clash of styles as Perham and Battle Lake square off Dec. 19.

Perham's offense has been lackluster, averaging just 45.6 points per game. But the Yellowjackets defense stepped up in the last two games, allowing 85 combined points.

It's a trend that must continue if Perham hopes to compete with No. 6-1A Battle Lake.

The Battlers' high-scoring offense is averaging 81.2 points per game and is one reason they are off to a 5-0 start. Lockdown defense is the other reason, as Battle Lake is holding opponents to less than 32 points per game.

Petric Van Erp scored 27 points, Tony Ukkelberg finished with 20 and Nick Trosdahl added 18 in the Battlers' 100-39 victory at Ashby on Dec. 2.

Battle Lake defeated Perham 52-51 last season.
