St. Cloud Tech faces Monticello in another Monticello Shootout matchup.

The Tigers are coming off a season that ended in heartbreaking fashion as Buffalo defeated Tech 83-75 in five overtimes to win the Class 4A, Section 8 championship.

Tech's top returning scorer is sophomore center Jake Martig, who averaged 10.8 points per game during the regular season.

The Magic showed some promise in their season opener, a 73-54 loss to Orono on Nov. 20.

Freshman guard Matt Todd scored 16 points, and seniors Matt Grathwohl and Tyler Frie chipped in 11 points apiece.
