Chanhassen and East Ridge played an exciting season opener last November. Regulation wasn’t enough time to determine a winner, and the Storm edged the Raptors 80-78 in overtime.

The teams begin the season facing each other again, with the rematch set for Saturday.

East Ridge rebounded from the loss to Chanhassen -- and a loss to Shakopee one week later -- to finish 23-5. The Raptors also went on to win the Suburban East Conference championship. After several tough seasons, East Ridge has a program trending upward with 41 regular-season victories in the past two years.

Chanhassen’s Joey Witthus and East Ridge’s Sid Tomes are players to watch in this matchup as both are the teams' top returning scorers. Witthus, a senior forward, averaged 22.8 points per game during the regular season, while Tomes, a junior guard, averaged 16.2.
