No. 16-3A Delano at No. 3-3A Holy Family Catholic
7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 18

At season’s start, the main question in Class 3A was whether anyone would be a challenge to two-time defending state champion DeLaSalle. A few teams have stepped up to answer the call, including third-ranked Holy Family Catholic. The Fire have lost just two games all season and have won six in a row entering Tuesday night’s home game against Wright County Conference rival Delano. The Tigers haven’t had the season they’d hoped and have lost five of their last six games, but remain dangerous with the inside-outside combination of Damon Longstreet (16.4 ppg) and Toby Hanson (20.9 ppg), who is a University of Minnesota baseball recruit. They’ll have their hands full with the Fire, who beat them 69-35 on Jan. 21. Holy Family Catholic boasts of intimidating big man Justin Dahl (13.0 ppg) protecting the paint and some terrific guards such as Joe Hanel (13.8 ppg) and Brent Hentges (12.0 ppg).
