Player of the Week candidates for Feb. 27-March 4

Player of the Week candidates

James Clark, Sebeka. The junior guard scored 36 points in a 86-63 win over Laporte. Next up for the Trojans is a Class 1A, Section 5 quarterfinal against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on Thursday.

Matthew Hurt, Rochester John Marshall. The sophomore forward tallied 47 points, eight rebounds and a pair of assists in a huge 93-52 victory over Rochester Century as well as 40 points and 12 rebounds in a 80-67 win over Austin.

Manny Jingco, Stillwater. The junior posted 40 points in a 76-58 win over Suburban East opponent East Ridge. Jingco averages 20.6 points per game.

Isaac Johnson, Minneapolis North. The senior guard recorded 33 points in a thrilling 95-92 loss to Hopkins. The No.1-1A Polars remain undefeated in Minneapolis City Conference play.

Cade Johnson, PACT. The junior guard contributed 38 points en route to a 81-63 victory over St. John’s Prep. He also scored 39 points in a 79-66 win against Heritage Academy.

Tre Jones, Apple Jones. The junior guard had 34 points, 11 rebounds and six assists as the No.3-4A Eagles soared to a 82-64 victory over Eagan.

Joshua Larson, Anoka. The senior forward tallied 39 points in a 92-79 loss to Northwest Suburban Conference opponent Totino-Grace.

Walt McGrory, Edina. The senior guard scored 35 points in a 88-75 win over Minneapolis Southwest. The Hornets face Prior Lake on Wednesday in the first round of section play.

Mitchell Plombon, St. Cloud Cathedral. The junior center recorded 31 points, 11 rebounds and an assist in a 64-59 win over Milaca. The No. 5-2A Crusaders face Pierz in the first round of the Class 2A, Section 6 tournament.

Zach Theisen, Osseo. The senior guard scored 40 points in a 76-51 victory over Blaine. Theisen averages 22 ppg.
