Updated boys' basketball state rankings: Feb. 22

Class 4A

The top five teams are: No. 1 Champlin Park, No. 2 Maple Grove, No. 3 Apple Valley, No. 4 Lakeville North and No. 5 Wayzata.

Class 3A

Minneapolis Patrick Henry is the big story in the Class 3A rankings, moving up to No. 6 after not appearing on the rankings last week. The Patriots notched three victories in the past week, winning those games by a combined score of 225-187. They have won nine of their last 10, losing only to No. 1-1A Minneapolis North (64-53).

DeLaSalle holds tight to its spot atop the 3A rankings after a perfect week, putting up a combined 202 points in its two wins. After starting the season 5-2, the Islanders have won their past 15 games.

Austin remains at No. 2, posting wins against Mankato East (85-67) and Rochester Mayo (51-46).

Mahtomedi (No. 3), Orono (No. 4), and Marshal (No. 5) remain static in the rankings and round out the top five.

Class 2A

The top five teams are: No. 1 Minnehaha Academy, No. 2 Caledonia, No. 3 Melrose, No. 4 Crosby-Ironton, and No. 5 St. Cloud Cathedral.

Class 1A

Minneapolis North continues its dominance in the Class 1A standings, extending its winning streak to 24 games after notching three victories last week by outscoring opponents by a combined 277-146. Senior Isaac Johnson leads the Polars with an average of 23.1 points per game.

Nevis jumped two spots to No. 2 after winning three games, including a 67-60 victory over No. 7-1A Red Lake. Heritage Christian (No. 3) and Central Minnesota Christian (No. 4) each moved down one spot. Goodhue is up one to No. 5 to complete the top five.

Springfield moved up one to No. 6, winning its only game of the week. The Tigers have an average of just under 82 points per game.
