Updated boys' basketball state rankings: Feb. 15

Class 4A

The top 5 teams are: No. 1 Champlin Park, No. 2 Maple Grove, No. 3 Apple Valley, No. 4 Lakeville North, and No. 5 Wayzata.

Class 3A

DeLaSalle continues its dominance at the top of the Class 3A rankings, extending its winning streak to 13 games. The Islanders most recent victories were a one-point win over Cretin-Derham Hall and 76-61 win over No. 7-3A Columbia Heights.

Austin made the biggest move up the rankings, jumping up four spots to No. 2 after two wins last week by a combined score of 138-95.

No. 3 Mahtomedi and No. 4 Orono each move up one spot from last week. Mahtomedi lost its first game since Jan. 5 last week, a 73-63 defeat at the hands of No. 8 St. Thomas Academy. Orono won three of four games, including a 57-45 win over No. 5 Marshall. Junior Max Bjorklund scored 20 points in Orono's win and leads the Spartans with an 18.7 points per game average and 412 total points on the season.

No. 8 St. Thomas Academy and No. 7 Columbia Heights both make appearances in the top 10 after not being on the rankings last week. In addition to its win over Mahtomedi, the Cadets doubled up Henry Sibley 80-40, scoring 58 points in the first half.

Class 2A

Two teams remain undefeated on the Class 2A rankings, as No. 3 Melrose collected two more wins, each by at least 11 points, and No. 4 Crosby-Ironton won its only game last week, a 79-53 victory over Pequot Lakes.

No. 1 Minnehaha Academy and No. 2 Caledonia retain their spots atop the list. The Redhawks won their game last week by a score of 62-52 over Minnetonka. Team-leading scorer Jalen Suggs (20.9 points per game) scored 15 points in the win. Caledonia had a four-win week last week, scoring an average of 84 points while allowing an average of 57.

St. Cloud Cathedral rounds out the top five.

After not appearing on the top 10 last week, Perham lands on the list at No. 7. In its three wins last week, Perham outscored its opponents 213-125.

Class 1A

The top 5 teams are: No. 1 Minneapolis North, No. 2 Heritage Christian, No. 3 Central Minnesota Christian, No. 4 Nevis, and No. 5 Red Lake.
