Player of the Week candidates for Feb. 6-11

This week's winner

Nick McMillan, Mounds View. The senior guard recorded 35 points in a 72-63 win over Suburban East Conference opponent Park of Cottage Grove.

The other candidates

Owen Chose, Eden Prairie. The senior guard recorded 37 points as the No. 8-4A Eagles lost to No. 4-4A Lakeville North 81-77.

Simeon Davis, Hill-Murray. Ranked first in the state for points per game with 30.9, the senior guard tallied 42 points in a 89-79 loss to St. Thomas Academy.

Aaron Gill, St. Paul Preparatory. The senior forward scored 37 points in an 86-79 victory over Twin Cities Athletic Conference foe Hope Academy.

Luke Hill, Liberty Classical. The senior forward finished with 35 points and 14 rebounds en route to a huge 94-59 win over Learning for Leadership.

Mitch Irlbeck, Redwood Valley. The junior guard contributed 39 points in a nail-biter against Jackson County Central. The Cardinals lost 82-81.

Tre Jones, Apple Valley. The junior guard broke Apple Valley’s single-game scoring record with 48 points in the No. 3-4A Eagles' 75-57 victory over Rosemount. This honor was previously held by his brother Tyus.

Sean Sutherlin, Irondale. The senior guard contributed 36 points in a 90-76 loss to No. 7-3A Totino-Grace. Sutherlin averages 25.3 points per game.

Jarvis Thomas, Orono. In a 81-69 loss to Waconia, the junior center had a huge game for the No. 5-3A Spartans. Thomas posted 27 points, 22 rebounds and four assists in the Wright County Conference East Division tilt.

Calvin Wishart, Delano. The junior guard tallied an impressive 43 points in a 105-73 victory over Hutchinson. Wishart is ranked third in the state for total points with 551 this season.
