Player of the Week candidates for Jan. 30-Feb. 4

This week's winner

Sam Peterson, Bethany Academy. In a 68-42 victory over FAIR, the senior forward recorded 29 points and 15 rebounds.

The other candidates

Trae Berhow, Watertown-Mayer. The senior forward and Pepperdine commit put up 33 points in a 65-59 win over Wright County Conference West Division opponent Rockford.

Mason Carpenter, Eastview. The senior posted 34 points in a 77-52 victory over Farmington, helping the Lightning improve to 6-4 in South Suburban Conference play.

Matthew Hurt, Rochester John Marshall. The sophomore forward recorded 30 points, 10 rebounds and two assists as the Rockets rolled Red Wing 75-49.

Tre Jones, Apple Valley. The junior guard finished with 22 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists to power the No 5-4A Eagles past Burnsville. Jones is ranked third in the state for assists (139).

Rocky Kreuser, Totino-Grace. The senior forward scored 32 points in a 73-67 loss to No. 10-4A Robbinsdale Armstrong.

Matt Todd, Monticello. The junior guard tallied 41 points in an 88-81 loss to Delano. Todd is averaging 25.6 points per game this season.

Jimmy Vollbrecht, Jordan. The senior forward scored 38 points in a 76-75 loss to Mayer Lutheran, the Hubmen's first defeat in Minnesota River Conference play. Jordan is 16-3 overall and sits atop the league standings with a 7-1 record.

Sam Wilson, Farmington. The senior forward scored well above his 22.5 average by finishing with 32 points in a 68-59 win over Fridley.

Kobey Woolhouse, Mayer Lutheran. The junior guard recorded 37 points in a thrilling 76-75 win over Jordan.
