Class 2A

The big story in the Class 2A rankings this week is St. Cloud Cathedral (8-1, 1-0), who made its way into the number four spot after not being ranked by MN Basketball News last week. Four of the Crusaders' seven wins have seen the offense score 80 or more points, putting their average points per game over 81. With St. Cloud Cathedral’s high entrance in the rankings, all other teams ranked fifth or lower moved down one spot from last week. The Crusaders' Michael Schaefer leads the state with 182 total points, averaging 26 points per game.

Six of the top ten teams remain undefeated. Caledonia (5-1, 3-0) is one of those teams, after sitting idle this past week. The Warriors have four games scheduled before the next rankings are released. Annandale is also undefeated and has not given up more than 50 points in any game this season.

Class 1A

Cass Lake-Bena (8-2, 3-2), Heritage Christian (5-1), and Springfield (6-1, 3-0) all made their way into the Class 1A top ten after not making the cut last week. Cass Lake-Bena’s win this week came against No. 9-2A Nevis by three points, while the Panthers' loss came at the hands of undefeated Red Lake. Springfield recorded a close win over St. James to improve to 6-1.

Minneapolis North (7-1, 2-0) remains atop the Class 1A rankings after a 105-43 victory over FAIR. The Polars are averaging almost 82 points per game. Minneapolis North’s Isaac Johnson leads the team with an average of 23 points per game.

Goodhue (8-0, 3-0) moved up two spots to No. 4 after a 20-point win over Dover-Eyota. The Wildcats have not given up more than 49 points in any game this season and have won all games by at least 10 points.
