Ishmael El-Amin tallied 32 points to aid the Royals resurgence in an 85-77 victory over Cedar Falls (Iowa) in the Breakdown Sports Tip Off Classic Saturday afternoon at the Lindbergh Center in Hopkins.

Ranked No. 3 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, the Royals (1-0) trailed by two at the half but overcame some defensive struggles to fend off the Tigers.

El-Amin scored 18 of his points in the second half.

A.J. Green, son of Northern Iowa basketball coach, Kyle Green, led Cedar Falls with a game-high 42 points.
