Star Tribune boys' basketball All-Metro second, third teams

Star Tribune all-metro SECOND TEAM

Nate Albers, Mounds View, 6-3, sr. forward: Averaged 24.8 points per game, shot 57 percent from the floor, 85 percent from the line.

Tyler Johnson, Minneapolis North, 6-2, sr. guard: Three-time Minneapolis City Conference Player of the Year spearheads the Polars’ explosive attack.

Goanar Mar, DeLaSalle, 6-7, jr. forward: Took his game to another level at the end of the season. Lock-down defender for coach Dave Thorson.

Ade Murkey, St. Croix Lutheran, 6-5, sr. guard: Nearly averaged a double-double (21.7 points, 9.7 rebounds) for the Class 2A, No. 1 Crusaders.

McKinley Wright IV, Champlin Park, 6-1, jr. guard: Plays with a high motor. Excels on both ends of the court, in all facets of the game.

Johnny Beeninga, Wayzata, 6-0, sr. guard

Myles Hanson, Chaska, 6-3, jr. forward

Jordan Horn, Tartan, 6-2, jr. guard

Julian Jackson, Minneapolis Henry, 6-5, sr. forward

Nathan Reuvers, Lakeville North, 6-10, jr. forward


HOW THE TEAM WAS SELECTED

The Star Tribune’s All-Metro teams and Metro Player of the Year were chosen based on nominations from metro-area coaches, conversations with a panel of coaches and staff observations.


The MN Basketball Hub poll is based on opinion and for entertainment purposes only. The results will not by used to determine next season's team.
