Most teams dream of playing in the state tournament in March, but only one from each section actually sees it come true.

As the postseason nears, Class 3A, Section 6 is looking more and more like a mini-state tournament, with six ranked squads still vying for playoff positioning.

Four of those teams play in the Wright County Conference East Division, where a tie atop of the league standings will be broken this week as Waconia and Delano meet for the second and final time in the regular season.

It may come as no surprise that the Wildcats, ranked No. 8 in Class 3A by Minnesota Basketball News, are in this position after placing third at state last season.

The
No. 7-3A Tigers, meanwhile, are experiencing a resurgence after finishing last in conference play with a 1-9 record a year ago.

This matchup between Wright County titans will not only impact the division standings but also section seeding and is our Top Game of the Week.
