Amir Coffey scored a team-high 22 points as Hopkins beat Apple Valley 89-81 on Saturday at the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic.

The Royals (7-0), ranked No. 2 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, had four other players in double-figure scoring. Vinnie Shahid and Ishmael El-Amin each posted 16 points, Simon Wright tallied 14 points and Xavier Johnson finished with 12 points.

The No. 1-4A Eagles (6-1) were led by Gary Trent Jr. with a game-high 27 points. Brock Bertram notched 21 points and Tre Jones had 13 points in the Eagles' first loss of the season.

Patrick Dembley and Isaac Johnson each scored a game-high 20 points as Minneapolis North blasted Fridley 96-57 on Saturday afternoon in the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic at Minnetonka High School

The Polars (6-0), ranked No. 1 in Class 1A by Minnesota Basketball News, also got 19 points from Tyler Johnson.

The No. 4-3A Tigers (2-1) were led by Tirik Reeves, who scored 12 points.

Senior Ade Murkey paced St. Croix Lutheran to a 86-75 win over Braham, scoring 19 of his team-high 23 points after halftime at the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic on Saturday at Minnetonka High School.
 
Ranked No. 2 in Class 2A by Minnesota Basketball News, the Crusaders (6-1) started the second half on a 25-4 run to deal the No. 3-2A Bombers' first loss of the season.
 
Braham (5-1) held a 42-33 lead at halftime behind senior Chris Olson, who scored 18 of his game-high 25 points in the opening half.
 
A dunk by Murkey with 15 minutes remaining sparked the Crusaders’ run as the team scored 22 unanswered points.
 
St. Croix Lutheran senior Trenton Krueger posted 20 points and 21 rebounds.

Steffon Mitchell scored 26 points to lead Shakopee over Rochester John Marshall 94-86 on Saturday night at the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic.

The Sabers (6-0), ranked No. 6 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, also received 26 points from Booker Coplin in the win. Drew Hanbury and Taylor Triplett chipped-in 15 and 12 points, respectively.
 
The No. 5-4A Rockets (5-1) were led by a game-high 33 points from freshman Matthew Hurt in Rochester John Marshall's first loss of the season. Michael Hurt posted 24 points and Isaiah Walden notched 16.

Osseo jumped out to a 13-point halftime lead and held off a Eden Prairie's second-half comeback attempt to complete a 56-52 win at the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic Saturday at Minnetonka High School.

Allan Anderson led the Orioles with 13 points while John Bezdicek and Kameron Bettie each chipped in 12.

The Eagles' Brady Rudrud led all scorers with 14 points and Nick Geolat finished with 10. 

The Orioles (6-0) held a 31-18 lead at the end of the first half, but Eden Prairie (3-3) stormed back after halftime and cut the deficit to five points with less than 10 minutes to play, but couldn't come up with the win.

Edina and Lakeville South needed double overtime to settle the score on Saturday at the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic, with the Hornets winning 66-64.

Edina (4-3), ranked No. 10 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, was led by Will Moreton with 27 points and Walt McGrory with 19 points.

The Cougars (3-3) were paced by Shae Mitchell with 25 points.


Jordan Horn tallied 29 points as Tartan defeated Linn-Mar (Iowa) 72-64 on Saturday at the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic.

The Titans (5-1) also received 12 points from Jordan Thompson

Linn-Mar got 22 points from Iowa commit Jordan Bohannon.

Northfield's Nicolas Zabel (23) scans the offense as Minnehaha Academy's Kaden Johnson (21) defends.

Northfield's Hunter Koep scored 27 points as the Raiders, ranked No. 6 in Class 3A by Minnesota Basketball News, hung on to defeat Minnehaha Academy 89-81 on Saturday at the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic.

Luke Harris tallied 16 points and Tanner Ernste and Nicolas Zabel each notched 13 points as Northfield improved to 6-2 on the season.

Javonni Bickham racked up 31 points and eighth-grader Jalen Suggs posted 17 points as the No. 5-2A RedHawks fell to 2-2 on the year.


Maple Grove cruised to a 70-47 win over Wayzata Saturday at the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic.

The Crimson (4-0), ranked No. 3 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, got 25 points from Tywhon Pickford and 15 points from Brad Davison.

The No. 7-4A Trojans (3-3) were led by Jack Sowada with 15 points.

McKinley Wright scored 26 points to lead Champlin Park in a 75-68 victory over DeLaSalle.

The Rebels (4-0), ranked No. 4 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News, also got 22 points from Theo John and 11 points from DJ Hunter.

Gabe Kalschuer posted a game-high 30 points for the No. 1-3A Islanders (1-2) in the loss.


Amar Miller scored 23 points and Minnetonka defeated Cretin-Derham Hall 75-68 in the final game of the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic, held at Minnetonka High School.

The Skippers (4-2) also got 18 points from Cedric Boone, 15 points from Seth Coatta and 14 points from Max Cooper.

The No.8-4A Raiders (4-1) were led by Daniel Oturu with 23 points and Jordan Ammons with 12 points.


Eli Cave scored 24 points as Benilde-St. Margaret's defeated Kasson-Mantorville 74-60 on Saturday at the Breakdown Sports USA Tip Off Classic.

The Red Knights (4-3), ranked No. 9 in Class 3A by Minnesota Basketball News, also received 15 points from Sam Baker and 13 points from Derek Drees.

The Komets (3-4) were led by Braxton Raymond with a game-high 30 points.
