Tuesday's roundup: Austin wins on miracle shot

AUSTIN 56, NORTHFIELD 55: With 1.6 seconds left in the game, Austin’s Oman Oman corraled the rebound of a mised free throw and heaved a one-handed, full-court shot as time expired. The ball sailed through the net, clinched the Packer’s fourth win of the season. MINNEAPOLIS NORTH 72, ST. CROIX LUTHERAN 67: The Polars, ranked no.1 in Class 1A, defeated the No. 2, 2A, Crusaders behind 16 points and five rebounds from senior Patrick Dembley. Four other players scored in double figures for the Polars. Ade Murkey had a game high 21 points for St. Croix Lutheran.

MINNETONKA 76, CHASKA 71 (OT): The Skippers outscored the Hawks by five in overtime to take the road victory. Seniors Amar Miller and Max Cooper scored 24 and 17 points, respectively to lead Minnetonka. Chaska’s Jameson Meyer totaled 29 points.

APPLE VALLEY: 92, PRIOR LAKE 38: Gary Trent Jr. led the Eagles with 46 point in only 23 minutes. This was his third 40-plus point performance of the season. He leads the state in scoring with 35.6 points per game.

LAKEVILLE NORTH 78, LAKEVILLE SOUTH 77: Prior to tip off, players from both teams held hands in a circle to honor the two Lakeville South students that passed away last week. Lakeville North clinched a come from behind victory thanks to a free throw from Ethan Igbanugo’s. Junior big man, Nathan Reuver’s had 24 points to lead the Panthers. The Cougars were led by Jack Sorenson’s 32 points.

STILLWATER 78, ST. FRANCIS 74 (3 OT): Stephen Anderson’s three-pointer at the end of regulation forced the first of three extra frames. In the second overtime, fatigue had set in as both teams could only manage three points. Stillwater was able to clinch the win after outscoring the Saints 12-8 in the third overtime. Wyatt Blinkhorn had 19 points to lead the Ponies. Isaiah Dobson and Manny Jingco each added 18 points.
