Tyus Jones, Reid Travis and the Howard Pulley Panthers were perfect hosts for the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League's Minneapolis session last weekend at the High Performance Academy.
The local team finished 5-0 over the Memorial Day weekend to secure its spot in the EYBL finals at the Nike Peach Jam, July 10-14. Howard Pulley finished 12-6 and in second place in their division.
The other member of the "Big Three," Rashad Vaughn (Cooper), will miss the Peach Jam. He and the Wisconsin Playground Elite were 1-4 last weekend, 8-10 overall.
Jones, who led Apple Valley to a Class 4A championship last March, leads the prominent AAU circuit in several offensive and defensive categories. Travis, who led DeLaSalle to a Class 3A championship, is among the top rebounders in the league.
