Anders Broman of Duluth's Lakeview Christian became the first player in Minnesota high school basketball history to surpass 5,000 career points.

Broman scored 49 points to lead Lakeview Christian to a 101-83 victory Sarturday over Fond du Lac Ojibwe in the Class 1A, Section 7 quarterfinals at Duluth Denfeld.

Broman, who was averaging 42.3 points per game going into the contest, now has 5,025 career points. Broman and the Lions (18-10) will next play Ely in the section semifinals on Wednesday.

Another Minnesota high school basketball player reach the milestone during the girls' state basketball tournament.

Braham’s Rebekah Dahlman has 4,963 career points going into the Bombers’ first-round state tournament game on Wednesday. Dahlman and the Bombers play BOLD in the Class 2A quarterfinals at Target Center.
