Tears and embraces after Plainview-Elgin-Millville defeated Litchfield for the Class 2A title.

Three Stars

1. Beau Nelson, Plainview-Elgin-Millville

Nelson played a very impressive overall game for Plainview-Elgin-Millville. The Bulldogs' guard sparked the second-half spurt, racking up 21 points on 8-12 shooting. He performed well above his season averages, stepping up to help his team win the 2A State Championship in blowout fashion.

2. Cory Speer, Plainview-Elgin-Millville

Speer combined with Nelson to do the majority of the scoring for the Bulldogs, chipping in 18 points in their championship victory. Speer got off to a slow start but recovered nicely, not looking back after helping P.E.M. jump out to an early second-half lead.

3. Zach KinnyLitchfield

The junior forward led the Dragons in scoring one night after hitting the biggest shot of his life in the 2A semifinal game against Perham. Litchfield was unable to gain any offensive rhythm throughout the championship game loss, the lone bright spot being Kinny's 11 points and 8 rebounds on 4-6 shooting.
